is a group of like-minded, community service oriented individuals who have come together to help support fellow LGBTIQA+ folk and allies - including the people we support and work with.
In 2021, the care collaborative walked in the Perth Pride Parade in it's first ever float! Over 80 people came together from a variety of organisations, broadly in the community services sector; as colleagues, customers, and families.
In 2022, it's planned that we come back together again, well ahead of this year's parade in November. We managed to activate this group of people in 6 weeks. Imagine what we could achieve in 9 months!
On the parade night, there were plenty of opportunities for people to chat and connect with one another, around their interest in being there, their own experiences, and to imagine what we could do for next (this!) year's event.
Some people have been talking about how the care collaborative might expand from its LGBTIQA+ origins to consider all dimensions of diversity.
Being human is rich and complex, with many layers of experience, not all of them comfortable. Let's find ways to share our stories and celebrate how we came to be who we are.
If you were part of our initial float - we already have your details and will be in touch again. If you would like to be added to our contact list and help shape care collaborative events and activities in 2022, then go here:
